Fall Break!

So, I have been on my Fall Break for the past few days! I flew in from Greenville, SC to Philly Friday night. Despite the fact that I was on a 48 seat plane, it was a very smooth flight!

After I greeted my parents, we all headed off to one of our favorite restaurants - Five Points Diner! It was so nice. Just like old times.

On Saturday morning, my mom and I got up and spent the day at In the Village. I got the works done! It felt great. Later, we went to pick up some good ole Wawa! Ah, how I missed it so much. After that, we went to see my grandparents! Then, I went out to eat at Friendly's with some high school friends!

On Sunday, I went to my "home" church! It was really nice to see everyone from MPC again. Then, we went off to visit with my grandparents again and later visited my sister and the kids! After all of this, we went back to the house to give out candy for Halloween! =]

On Monday, I decided to visit my high school! It was SO wonderful to see some of my favorite teachers, guidance counselor, and kids there! I missed them all so much.

Adventures in Greenville!

My friends and I went on an awesome adventure this past weekend!

We decided to spend the day in gorgeous Greenville, South Carolina! (It is so beautiful there.) I would totally love to live near there. They have a downtown filled with all kinds of cute shops, restaurants, ice cream places, and etc.

This past weekend was actually Greenville's annual fall festival called "Fall for Greenville." There were all kinds of tents set up with food and entertainment. It was really crowded, but so much fun to be there during this festival!

Homecoming Weekend!

So, this past weekend was HOMECOMING!

The weekend started off with a huge pep rally (with speakers, skits, bands, choirs, and etc.) in the Littlejohn Coliseum. It was called Tigerama! It was so much fun. Here is all of the information about the event: http://tigerama2010.com/

After Tigerama, there were awesome fireworks!

After the fireworks was Night of the Tiger. Also, there were all of the floats the sororities and fraternities worked on display on Bowman field. They were awesome! Definitely check out all of my pictures on Facebook.

Saturday was the Clemson vs. Miami game! Even though we lost, it was still so much fun! After the game, a group of us hung out together (in each other's dorms and around the campus). Later, we drove about 20 mins to Anderson to eat Fuddrucker's! We had SO much fun there.

This past weekend was just awesome. I will never forget it.

Homecoming Build!

Today, I worked with Habitat for Humanity on the Homecoming Build! It was so much fun! It was a wonderful and fulfilling opportunity. I cannot wait to work on the house next year!

Here is information about the Homecoming Build:

"The Clemson University Campus Chapter of Habitat for Humanity completed its first Homecoming Build in 1994. Since then, we have gathered each fall on Bowman Field to build a home in the ten days prior to the Homecoming Celebration! In 2001, we organized a "Blitz Build," completing five homes, and in 2003, we spurred the building of the first ever Youth United home in partnership with D.W. Daniel High School in Central, SC."

"The Homecoming House Project on Bowman Field has become a standing tradition for Clemson Habitat. It requires the efforts of over 500 students and over 2100 hours of service to build a home in such a short period of time. The student volunteers cannot do it alone—strong community partnerships with the local affiliate (Pickens County Habitat for Humanity), businesses, government organizations, and citizens make this project a success every year. Having innumerable benefits, this highly publicized and recognizable event partners with Habitat family partners to build their home. It is an excellent opportunity to bring together the faculty and students of Clemson with their community and also with the homeowner."

Clemson AFTERdark, Olive Garden, Shopping, & etc.

"One night. One campus. One movement." ~ Clemson AFTERdark was absolutely amazing! It was this past Thursday (in place of FCA). I cannot even put into words how awesome and moving it was. Here is the website for more information: http://www.whatsafterdark.com/

This past Friday night, a few friends and I went to Olive Garden for dinner. (They had never been to one before!) It was very delicious, as always. I am so glad that there is an Olive Garden only 20 mins from Clemson! One of my favorite quotes of the night: Monica: "That was a magical breadstick. I think I might cry." Ha-ha!

Afterwards we went to the local Target to pick up some things we all needed. (Snacks, shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste, & etc.)

Last night, I met up with a friend to play some tennis! It was a great workout.

Rock For LIFE!

I am a member of Clemson University Students for Life! Students for Life is a national organization. 523 different colleges have this group nationwide. (I was SO happy when I saw that Clemson had one!)

"Clemson University Students for Life exists to organize and activate pro-life members of the University community and works to save lives that are threatened by induced abortion, euthanasia, and the destruction of human embryos for the purpose of research. Our members seek to promote respect for life at Clemson University and on a local, state, and national level by education on life issues, collaborating with other on common goals, and helping those in need so that life is a promising choice."

Yesterday, we participated in an event called the Rock for Life!

"Our next event will be a service project: helping run "Rock for Life" in Greenville, SC at Saint Joseph's School. This event is a pro-life rally on September 18 from 5:00-10:00 pm. It's designed for high schoolers in the Upstate SC area, complete with a band, speakers, and dinner. The organizers want Clemson students to help coordinate ice breakers, games, and help keep things running smoothly (plus, all Clemson volunteers get a free t-shirt!). They also hope that having pro-life college students at the event will have a positive impact on the high school students."

I cannot even begin to tell you how much fun I had there. We were there from about 4 - 10, and then went to get Frostys at a local Wendy's after! It was so wonderful to be surrounded by other people who believe that life is the greatest gift of all. Each child has a purpose and potential for LIFE! I love the people that I met at this event. I am truly looking forward to the next event/meeting with this great group of believers.

My First Clemson Football Game & Parents' Weekend!

Hey!

So, the game last week was AMAZING! I had SO MUCH FUN! The whole day was wonderful. In the morning, a group of us walked around the campus and checked out all of the people tailgating. 3:30 was kickoff! I cannot even begin to describe the amount of energy there was in the stadium. This weekend is Parents' Weekend. After my last class today, I met my parents in one of the cafeterias here! It is so great to see them after a while! They brought me some more clothes and things for my dorm. (Thanks!!!) I also showed them around the campus a little more. Later, we drove about 20 minutes to Anderson to go eat at Olive Garden.

I am here in the hotel right now writing this post. I wanted to stay with them so that we can spend more time together. Tomorrow is another gameday! I am so excited to show them the atmosphere here. GO TIGERS!

Clemson!!!

Hey y'all! Greetings from the Palmetto State!

I have been meaning to post for a while! But, I've been so crazy busy lately!

So Clemson....IS AMAZING! I absolutely love it down here.

I have met so many really awesome people. Life in the South is just wonderful. It's a very different world. People here are relaxed, laid back, and simply take one thing at a time. They are also peaceful, slow, friendly, thoughtful, sweet, and tend to be very religious. Also, everything is basically closed on Sundays. These southerners live up the "holy day." I love that. I wish that people up North had that mentality as well. After all, it's the way it should be.

I am already involved in several clubs here as well! I am doing Habitat for Humanity, Students for Life, and FCA - Fellowship of Christian Athletes. I will definitely keep "all of y'all" updated on what I am doing in each club. (I do facebook a lot of what I do each day!) There is so much to do here.

I love the food here. The people who work around the campus (cafeteria workers, trash collectors, janitors & etc.) are also very sweet people! I have not encountered one miserable person yet.

I feel like I am able to be myself here. I (would like to think that I) was always a very laid back, chill person. It's nice to be surrounded by people who are similar. It's also very special to be surrounded by very conservative, Christian people. I love being in the "bible-belt." People here are not afraid to be religious. I feel that I have found the place I am meant to be in - the South.

I do miss my family A LOT! But, I am really looking forward to Parent's Weekend soon! That will definitely be tons of fun. I am also looking forward to coming home for Fall Break at the very end of October. =]

Well, the first home football game of the season is this Saturday, September 4th. I cannot even begin to tell y'all how excited I am for it!

Avalon & Cheesecake Factory!

Yesterday, my friends and I visited our friend Allison down the shore. Her grandparents have a house in Avalon! (SO lucky!) There were 6 of us! It was a lot of fun. Ah, how I love the beach.

Today was a sad day. It was the last day that I could do anything with friends because I have a lot to do before I leave early Friday morning. We went out to eat at the Cheesecake Factory. (It's SUCH a good restaurant.) Anyway, it was very sad to say good-bye. I have gotten very close with my high school loves! I will miss them terribly. But, I'm so excited to meet new people. I know that we will always be able to keep in touch. It's been a great four years guys. Here's to many more! =]

End of the Summer Pool Party & Sean Hannity - Live!

Last night, some of my best friends from high school and I had our last big party! We went out to eat at Mandarin Court, a local Chinese restaurant. The food they have there is SO good. =] After dinner, we came back to my house and swam for the night. It was a great night. It's very hard to say good-bye though! =/ But, that's part of life. It's time to go our separate ways. But, I know that we will always keep in touch. Gosh, I cannot imagine life without facebook! Ha-ha.

Today was also a great day. I got to see Sean Hannity live at the Constitution Center in Philly. It was awesome!!! He is very intelligent, funny,...and RIGHT! He tells it like it is. I love him.

Zac Efron & Spending the Day in Philly!

So last weekend we went to see Charlie St. Cloud. It was sooo good! It was pretty sad and creepy at times, but it was definitely a movie worth seeing. Of course, all of us girls were there to see the movie for one reason: ZAC EFRON. Enough said. Yeah, he's such a great actor. And of course, he's not too bad to look at for hours either! =] I love him.

Today, my friends Tara, Alec, and I spent the day in good old Philadelphia. We went to see the new Cleopatra exhibit at the Franklin Institute. It was really cool! It's here until January, so if you get a chance to see it - DO IT. =] After the exhibit we toured the rest of the museum until it closed. After that, we went out to eat at a cute 50s restaurant called Johnny Rockets. Their food was great! Later, we did a little shopping on South Street. It was a very nice day!

At the Movies!

Lately, I have spent A LOT of time at the movies! It's definitely one of my favorite things about summer.

Yesterday, I saw Despicable Me. IT IS SO CUTE! Agnes, the little girl who loves fluffy unicorns, is probably the cutest *animated* kid I have ever seen. I love her. Anyway, the movie was really sweet. Go see it!

A few weeks ago, I saw Toy Story 3. What an awesome movie. It was perfect for people my age because Andy is heading off to college! The entire movie was about moving on and etc. Also, keep your eyes open for the white and orange Clemson Tigers sticker! It's right next to the toy chest. (I thought that I imagined this, but I went home and researched it online. I'm not the only one who saw this! It's also all over Clemson websites. Ha-ha. Love it.)

Taylor Swift's New Album & Grown Ups!

I found out (t0day) that Taylor Swift's new album, Speak Now, is coming out on October 25th. I am SO excited to hear it. Also, the first single on this new album, "Mine", is being released on August 16th.

Ocean City 2010!

My family and I went to spend our "annual" week in the great Ocean City, NJ! We were there from June 10th - June 16th. (We came home that Friday night.) It was a really great trip.

On Sunday, my parents and I spent the day together. On Monday, my friend Tara came to visit for the whole day. On Tuesday, my friends Liz and Brad came to spend the night. Liz left on Wednesday night, and Brad stayed until Thursday night. My sister and the kids came on Thursday and stayed until Friday night. We spent every day (basically) going to the beach and then hitting the boardwalk at night.

As you can see, it was a very busy, but VERY AWESOME trip. We had a good week weather wise. I miss it already.

Freshman Orientation!

June 28th - June 29th was my Freshman Orientation at Clemson!

IT WAS AWESOME. At first, it was a little hectic, but otherwise it was really organized. We were there from around 8 in the morning on the first day to 4 in the afternoon the second day. We did a lot of important things. There were a lot of different meetings/information sessions. Also, we got our ID card pictures and signed up for the meal plan and etc. I also spent the night in one of the dorms there.

I met so many great fellow members of the class of 2014. I am so excited to go there! It's an amazing place to be. Yay Clemson 2014!

Graduation Party!

My graduation party was this past Saturday, June 19th! It was about 85 degrees or so and sunny. We had the most perfect day for it!!! =]

We found out that Olive Garden "caters" parties, so we got all of the food from there! The food was absolutely amazing.

It was so wonderful to see so many people at my party. Thanks for coming! I hope that you all had a good time.

GRADUATION!

This past Tuesday, June 8th, was my high school graduation!!! Yay Bishop Eustace Prep High School Class of 2010.

It was the most beautiful night for it too. We got SO lucky. =] It was a very nice ceremony, and it's amazing to finally be done! I'll really miss it. I know, that sounds crazy. But, it's true! It's been a very long and winding road. But, it's totally been worth it.

Proms, Baccalaureate, & More!

May 27th, 2010 was my prom! ~ Bishop Eustace Prep School Senior Prom 2010 ~ was...amazing! It was held at the Mansion in Voorhees, NJ. I felt like a princess all night. If you have me on facebook, definitely check out the pictures! It's a memory that I will never forget.

June 4th, 2010 was my boyfriend's prom! ~ Haddonfield Memorial High School Senior Prom 2010 ~ was...really good! It was also held at the Mansion. I was in love with my dress just like my other one.

June 6th, 2010...Ah, what wasn't on June 6th?! It was Recognition Sunday at my church. My youth group leader had the most beautiful speech about me and the other senior in the YG. She also gave us both "keepsake" boxes with our names and Class of 2010 engraved on it. Also, there is a picture of the church in the frame of it. Inside, there were many quotes about life in it. I will treasure it forever. =]

Later that afternoon, Baccalaureate Mass was at St. Isaac Jogues in Marlton. It was a very nice "ceremony." =]

Finally, after that, one of my closest and oldest friends and I went to our old friend's graduation party. It was such a sweet reunion!!!

Well, as you can see, I have been quite busy lately. But, it's definitely all good stuff.

Last Day of High School! & Etc.

Last Friday (May 21st) was my last day of high school! Looking back, I cannot believe how fast all four years went. It's absolutely unbelievable.

People have asked me a lot about how I feel about it. I always say that it's bittersweet, which it definitely is. I am both happy and sad to be leaving high school for different reasons.

This week (Monday - Wednesday) is when the senior's final exams are! Fortunately, I only have to take three of them, so it isn't too too bad. My last one is tomorrow afternoon. Then, I am officially done with classes. Hooray! =]

Also, this past Saturday (May 22nd) I went to see Tristan race in the New Jersey Scholastic Rowing Championships at the Cooper River! He did such a great job, and wound up getting a silver medal. It was his best race of his high school time. (He's in a single boat.) I wish that I had not forgotten my camera in his parent's car, or I would have definitely taken pictures. =/ But, his parents did! (Hopefully they'll be up on facebook soon.)

Clemson University It Is!

I have finally decided on my future college!!! Well, I decided about 3 weeks ago...But...

I'M GOING TO CLEMSON UNIVERSITY! Major: Early Childhood Education. I am seriously so excited, and cannot wait to attend. Move-in day is going to be August 14th!

It's an amazing school, and is truly the best choice for me. I am so excited,
as there are so many great opportunities there!!! They definitely have an
impressive early childhood education program, great musical opportunities,
numerous clubs and bands.

HAPPY EASTER!

Greetings from Charleston, South Carolina!

Wow, a lot has happened since I last posted. I'll try to make it a more regular thing now.

Anyway, spring break has officially started!!! So, my family and I left around 8 in the morning yesterday to go to this great city - Charleston. We are here to re-visit 2 of my top 3 schools so that I can finally make my college decision.

Today, we spent the day walking around this absolutely beautiful place. (This is the 3rd time we've been here. Most people would think that we would be tired of seeing it. Nope. Not a chance of that! This city never gets old!) We had "dinner" at S.N.O.B. - Slightly North of Broad. It's an incredible restaurant, and I would highly recommend it to anyone coming to Charleston.

Well, tomorrow is the day that I turn the big 1 - 8!!! I'm so excited. In the morning, I am meeting with an advisor from to School of Ed. at the College of Charleston. In the afternoon, I am meeting up with a freshman and "shadowing" her for the day. I will be attending 2 of her classes. I'll probably be done with all of this "business" stuff around 2. We'll just hang out and explore the rest of the day. Later that night, we're going out to eat at my favorite restaurant here - Bocci's! I cannot think of a better place to spend my birthday! =]

High Point University - I GOT THE SCHOLARSHIP!

So yesterday, I got this package in the mail from High Point University. I opened up the box to find a letter saying that I received the Presidential Scholarship! I got $7,000 per year (total = $28,000), and $500 to study abroad if I want to. =]

I am SO excited. At the scholarship weekend, the President of HPU gave a beautiful speech to all of us students. He called us "Godivas." Surely enough, there was a box of Godiva in the package! It makes me smile!

That school is just amazing, and the people there are so thoughtful. Thank you, High Point University, for being such an incredible school. I will always love HPU whether I go there or not. =] What a wonderful opportunity.

Valentine's Day Movie

If any of you haven't seen the movie - Valentine's Day - you have to! It is sooooo hilarious. I loved every minute of it.

Also, it didn't hurt that Patrick Dempsey, Ashton Kutcher, Eric Dane, and Bradley Cooper were in it! <3

I also loved Taylor Swift, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Biel, Anne Hathaway, Queen Latifah, and George Lopez in the movie.

Every single person was amazing! I totally wanna see it again.

High Point University Presidential Scholarship Weekend!

After school on Thursday, February 18th, we all left for High Point, NC! About 9 hours later (thanks to stupid Washington D.C.) we arrived! =]

The next morning, I visited a psychology class for elementary education majors! It was actually taught by the Dean of the School of Education. It was so incredible! My family and I spent the rest of the day wandering around the beautiful campus. Later that day was the HPU Presidential Scholarship dinner event. It was perfectly done. The food, entertainment, and speeches were absolutely amazing.

The following day was when the interviews took place. In the morning, we (us students) attended a speech by the President of High Point University, Dr. Nido Qubein. I cannot even put into words how amazing this person is. He is truly one of the most inspirational people I have ever met in my life. Google/youtube him. He is a very well-known motivational speaker, author, business man, and most importantly - President of High Point University.

The interviews went very well! Again, the people in the South are just SO different. They are very laid back, happy, faithful, generous, welcoming, and loving people. (The list goes on and on.) The people at HPU are so friendly and personable. They really care about who you are! I also met so many awesome future students!

I will never forget the HPU Presidential Scholarship weekend. I had the time of my life there. I will update y'all on what school I decide to go to! Anyway, I know that my heart belongs in the South.

Chick Flicks & Valentine's Day

First of all, I wanted to wish all of my loves a very HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!! =]

So, this weekend was a lot of fun! I went to see When In Rome on Friday. It's a really cute movie! I need to go to Rome now. It just looks sooo beautiful. Josh Duhamel is so gorgeous in it also. <3 LOL.

Yesterday, we all went to see Dear John. This movie is absolutely incredible. So touching and emotional. I absolutely fell in love with it. I can't even put it into words how this movie affected me. It was such a beautiful story. I have to read the book now! Also, it was filmed in the great state of South Carolina. (Some was even filmed in Charleston!!!) At one point in the movie, the main rotunda of the CofC campus is seen. It was so awesome to see that.

Well, we all leave for High Point, NC on Thursday. Wish me luck!

College News!

Hello!

I just wanted to update you on my college news! So far, I have been accepted to five schools: West Chester University, Lebanon Valley College, Saint Joseph's University, High Point University, and the College of Charleston!!!

I am very excited. It's such a BIG decision. I would say that my top three are CofC, HPU, & Saint Joe's.

This upcoming weekend we are heading down to High Point, NC. I was selected for the High Point University Presidential Scholarship. It's a whole weekend event. On that Friday, we have a dinner event. The next day is when the interviews take place.

I cannot wait to go South again - especially to get away from all of this nasty weather. I miss being in the South. It's such a wonderful place to be.

SNOW DAYS!

Woah, hasn't the weather been crazy lately? I had this past Monday off due the snow! Everything last weekend was canceled also. (My youth group mission & RYO was even canceled.)

I have a snow day today and tomorrow! I used to love the snow, but I don't like it anymore. However, the one good thing about the snow is SNOW DAYS. So, I'll deal. =]

For those who have to travel in this, please be careful!

Way Too Long!

Wow, it has been an extremely LONG time since I last blogged. Sorry! Life has just been SO busy with school, music stuff, college stuff, & etc.

Anyway, I hope that you all had a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I cannot believe that it's already 2010. (GRADUATION YEAR!)

So much stuff has happened since I last blogged! I don't even know where to begin. I'll try to make blogging a more regular thing.

Just wanted to share a quote that I found after joining a facebook group. I have wanted to be an elementary ed. teacher since I was only 8 years old. I actually found a facebook group called "Future Teachers" so I joined it of course. Here is the quote:
